DocumentationCenterpoint for SalesforceThe Configuration screen

The Configuration screen

The Metaforce Configuration card is where an administrator sets up Centerpoint for Salesforce without working in Setup. It sits on the Metaforce Application tab, and its introduction reads: This section contains all configurations regarding Metaforce and Salesforce Data.

Everything the card edits is stored in the package’s custom settings, which you can also open in Setup. The Configuration page describes each setting and field.

Users with the Metaforce Access permission set can open the screen.

The card has seven tabs.

Initial Setup

Use this tab once, right after you install the package.

Warning: Only use this once after installation of the package. It overwrites all settings with the default settings. Anything you changed in the settings listed below is lost.

  1. Click Delete settings. The Status line shows Deletion in progress…, then the result.
  2. Click Create default settings. The Status line shows Creating default settings in progress…, then OK when it worked or the error text when it did not.

Before you click anything, the Status line shows Ready!.

The default settings are these 11 sets:

  • Identifying Field, for Account, Contact, Case, person accounts and Lead
  • Metaforce Metadata Field, the columns of the document lists
  • External Data Service, with the standard data service
  • Metaforce Customer Environment, the SelectedEnvironment record
  • Metaforce UI Config
  • Template SObject Map, example data templates
  • Metaforce Bulk Send
  • Metaforce Template Cache Ctrl
  • Metaforce Print Batch Control
  • Metaforce Error Configuration, with error logging and developer level both on
  • Metaforce Generated PDF, which starts switched off

Delete settings removes all of these sets in one go, so use it only together with Create default settings.

Metaforce Database

This tab shows two cards side by side, Centerpoint Dynamo Attributes for Dynamo (the queue of documents waiting for distribution) and Centerpoint Viewpoint Attributes for Viewpoint (the document archive). Each lists the Name and Type of the fields in that database under its Schema. On the Viewpoint card you can choose the schema. Use the names when you fill in Metaforce Schema Field Name for a list column.

Viewpoint Listview and Dynamo Listview

These two tabs edit the columns of the document lists on your record pages. Viewpoint Listview controls Archived Documents, and Dynamo Listview controls Documents in Distribution.

Each row is one column. The table shows:

ColumnMeaning
NameUnique name of the column
MF DatabaseViewpoint or Dynamo
Custom Label Name and Custom Label ValueThe custom label that holds the heading, and the heading text
MF Schema Field NameThe field from the database that fills the column
Column OrderPosition from the left, starting at 1
Show ColumnShow or hide the column
Column Typetext shows plain text, click shows a link that opens the document

Change the values and save. The setting behind these tabs is Metaforce Metadata Field, see Configuration. The default headings are, for example, Print Date, Template and Description, and you can translate them with the Translation Workbench.

Template SObject Mapping

This tab holds the Data Template Builder, where you define which Salesforce records and fields are sent to a template or Smartform. See Data templates.

Smartforms Webhook URL

This tab shows the web address that receives Smartform webhooks in your org. It has the form of your webhook site address followed by /services/apexrest/<namespace>/SmartFormsWebhook. Doc Gen needs it only when a Smartform is started outside Salesforce. Forms started from Salesforce already carry it.

Smartforms to Salesforce Mapping

This tab holds the mapping editor that copies the answers of a finished Smartform into Salesforce records. See Smartform field mapping.
